MBEF’s Annual Appeal is our most important fundraising campaign. Last year, parents contributed approximately 70% of the $6+ million raised to support Manhattan Beach public schools.
Our recommended donation amount is $1,500 per student, however please make a meaningful investment that is right for your family. Every gift matters and every donor is an important part of this effort. Thank you!

Mira Costa Class of 2016
For the past two years, the MBEF Endowment has created a fund honoring Mira Costa’s graduating class. Parents, grandparents, and students contributed over $6,000 to their class fund each year. This year, the tradition continues.
With a gift of $20.16, or more, you can leave a legacy gift in honor of your graduate. As a fund within the MBEF Endowment, donations to the 2016 Forever Fund are invested in perpetuity, growing over time. The return on investment goes back to the schools through grants from MBEF, ensuring that the great schools your graduate remembers stay great forever.
While parents can seed the fund, it’s up to the Class of 2016 to grow it, as they make their way through the world – each year, or at each reunion – over the years. This is a way for the Class of 2016 to forever make a significant impact on future generations of Mustangs!

MBEF Endowment Fund: Great Schools Forever.
The MBEF Endowment protects our schools from the erratic fluctuation of state funding by creating a long-term, secure funding source. Through ongoing contributions and prudent fiscal management, the MBEF Endowment principal has grown to more than $13M, and this year, the Endowment disbursed $250K to fund MBEF programs. Our goal is to reach a point where the annual return on investment is enough to make up for the shortfalls in public school funding.
Who should give to the Endowment? Parents. Alumni. Parents of Alumni. Grandparents. Business Owners. Longtime residents. New arrivals. Anyone who believes in the power of an excellent public school education, and the extraordinary impact that great schools have on the community as a whole.
