15. From Kenya to Australia, Nurse tends to World’s Poor
After completing her undergraduate at Arizona State University, Lexy Davidge, MC’08, was one of just twenty accepted into Mayo Clinic’s Accelerated Nursing Program in Scottsdale, Arizona. For the last two years, Lexy has been working at the UCLA Ronald Reagan Hospital in the Transplant/Surgical Intensive Care Unit. In her spare time, she’s been on medical missions to Kenya and volunteering as a camp nurse in Australia. “In Africa, we had the opportunity to help Kenyans that had walked miles and even days to be seen at our medical clinic,” shares Lexy. She credits her international interest to art teacher Mr. Mellis “who was always so relatable and helped students dream big,” and to Mr. Marx who taught her to be bold in pursuing opportunities. In the fall, Lexy plans to studying towards becoming a nurse practitioner.
