18.  Today Teaching for America, Tomorrow Policy Maker

While still at Costa, Hannah Gesier, MC’09, enrolled in a Biology class at El Camino College where she befriended another high school girl from a failing Compton public school.   When Hannah noticed differences in their academic preparations, it inspired her life’s passion for education policy and reform.   After getting her degree from Cornell University, Hannah headed to Dallas, Texas, where she has been working via Teach For America with 7th and 8th graders.  When her stint with Teach for America is over her next ambition is a joint Masters in Public Policy and Public Health.
