2. Space Travel for All

seanWant to travel in space?   That possibility might be here sooner than you think with the developing commercial spaceflight industry.  Sean Currey, MC’07, is right there making it happen as a thermal engineer at SpaceX, located in Hawthorne.  Currey earned a degree in mechanical engineering from Dartmouth College  and then a Master’s in aerospace engineering from Georgia Tech.  While at Dartmouth, Sean designed a zero-gravity dehumidifier for astronaut life support systems that flew on NASA’s Weightless Wonder.  At SpaceX, Sean is working on the world’s first fully reusable rocket.   Sean credits his path to Costa’s Math and Science programs, which prepared him for college engineering classwork, and to Model UN, which taught him to communicate effectively and concisely.
