Psychologist and Author Madeline Levine Visits Mira Costa February 25th

By February 14, 2020Uncategorized

Ready or NotMBEF is pleased to partner with South Bay Families Connected and {pages} bookstore to bring best selling author, Madeline Levine, to our community on Tuesday, February 25th at 7pm in the Mira Costa Auditorium. Levine is co-founder of Challenge Success, a project of the Stanford Graduate School of Education that provides families and schools practical, researched-based tools they need to create a more balanced and academically fulfilling life for kids. Her New York Times bestseller, The Price of Privilege, explores the reasons why teenagers from affluent families are experiencing epidemic rates of emotional problems. Her follow up book, Teach Your Children Well, also a New York Times bestseller, tackles our current narrow definition of success how it unnecessarily stresses academically talented kids and marginalizes many more whose talents and interests are less amenable to measurement. Her current book, Ready or Not, focuses on how to best prepare our children and ourselves for an uncertain and rapidly changing world.

We wouldn’t be able to bring this renowned speaker to our Manhattan Beach families without our community’s collective support. By purchasing tickets, Dr. Levine’s fee is covered, we support our local independent bookstore, and you receive a signed hardback copy of Ready or Not.
