RACE To Be Human Screening and Discussion

By November 9, 2022Uncategorized

A strong community is built on the premise that residents hold a genuine, mutual respect for one another and have a strong commitment for understanding and standing up for all its members. The documentary film, RACE To Be Human, addresses the apprehension and confusion when it comes to talking about race and racism. To adequately support academic excellence in our schools, MBEF recognizes that students require a safe and welcoming environment in which to learn – working to ensure this builds community. The film shares how we can participate and build empathy through conversations at home, work and school. Following the 46-minute film, a panel discussion and Q & A among South Bay students, experts, and educators to encourage an open dialogue around race will take place. This special presentation on Tuesday, November 15th at the Mira Costa High School Auditorium at 6:30pm is recommended for kids 10 and up and their parents, and is a collaboration between the MBEF, the Anti-Defamation League, and the South Bay Community Coalition Against Hate to support our local families. There is no cost to attend this event – Pre-Registration is Required.
