Are you ready to ROCK? MBEF is hosting the first annual Rock the ASK, a celebration of the community support of our Manhattan Beach public schools. Each year our generous community of parents, businesses and neighbors come together to raise the essential funds required to support programs of excellence in our schools.

Rock the ASK celebrates this critical support, specifically of those who Meet the ASK of $2000 per student to help reach the Annual Appeal Campaign goal of $5 million each year. This outdoor concert event will feature live music from the Spazmatics thanks to the generosity of Saint Rocke.

Rock the ASK is a complimentary donor appreciation event for key contributors and volunteers to the Annual Appeal. To receive an invitation, please ensure that you have committed to support the 2023-2024 Annual Appeal with a donation of $2000 per student registered in MBUSD schools. If you have not yet contributed, please consider supporting MBEF’s Annual Appeal before January 31, 2024.

All eligible guests will receive their invitation via mail the first week of February. Rock the ASK is for invited guests only and requires a ticket for entry – please use the QR code on the printed invitation to RSVP by March 6th. Electronic tickets will be emailed once a guest confirms his or her attendance.

What is Rock the ASK?

Rock the ASK is an annual celebration concert dedicated to celebrating the incredible community support for Manhattan Beach public schools through MBEF’s Annual Appeal. All parents who donate the MBEF ASK of $2,000 per student in MBUSD schools to help reach the annual goal of $5 million are invited. The first ever appreciation event will be filled with live music, dancing, and community spirit as we ROCK to support excellence in education in Manhattan Beach.

Who is invited?

Parents who contribute to the Annual Appeal at the ASK of $2,000 PER STUDENT in MBUSD schools will receive an invitation in the mail the first week of February.. To verify the status of your donation to the Annual Appeal this year, please check the Annual Appeal Donors for 2023-24. Significant supporters and volunteers involved in the MBEF’s Annual Appeal will also be invited to attend this complimentary event. All guests will receive their tickets once they RSVP.

Can I purchase tickets?

Rock the ASK is a donor appreciation event and tickets are complimentary for parents who contribute to the Annual Appeal at $2,000 per student in MBUSD schools. If you would like to attend, please make your Donation or Pledge to the Annual Appeal before the end of the campaign on January 31st. 100% of a donation to the Annual Appeal pays for MBEF grants dedicated to programs that support Class Size Reduction, Counseling and Support, Physical Education, Reading, Writing and Literacy, Science, Technology, Engineering, Art and Math (STEAM) and Visual and Performing Art. Rock the ASK is an outdoor concert with a festival like feel – a variety of food, beer, wine and spirit options will be available for all to enjoy thanks to the generosity of our MBEF partners and event sponsors. Take advantage of backyard games, visiting with friends and other MBEF supporters while singing and dancing to the hits of the Spazmatics brought to us by Saint Rocke!

Where will Rock the ASK be held?

Rock the ASK will be held in the outdoor parking lot of Kinecta Federal Credit Union, MBEF’s longtime Community Partner at 1440 Rosecrans Avenue in Manhattan Beach. While we would love to hold the event on Saint Rocke’s stage, we anticipate a large number of guests and the outdoor venue is more accommodating.

Is this a family event?
